Front Counter

In the Front Counter Menu, you will find all of the rental and sales transactions functions. Within this menu, you can also go directly to the “Item Lookup / Order Creation” function to search for rental and sales items, then immediately create rental transactions based on the items that you searched for. Cash drawer functions help you maintain your cash drawer and take a payment on account from the front counter. From this menu, you can also record lost sales, use the reservation screen and calendar functions to track reservations and perform a quick merchandise price lookup.

Customers

Within the Accounts Receivable section, you maintain your customer file, where you can keep track of vital customer information, plus:

Phone calls to your customers using the call log
Names of your customers' employees who are authorized to rent on your behalf
Sales people and their commission structures
Batch payment-on-account functions
Debit or credit adjustment functions.

Customer statements and finance charges are generated from this section, as well as many helpful reports. In the A/R Setup menu you can set up tax codes, terms codes and customer discounts, and you can merge customers together.

Maintenance

The service department section allows you to open and close maintenance work orders for your rental items or for customer’s equipment. Within this section, you can track internal, customer, and warranty maintenance, and create invoices for customer maintenance. Also from this section, you can set up scheduled maintenance for your fleet based on hours or number of rentals. You can set up inspection forms that automatically print out at the end of each rental as an inspection “checklist” to prepare rental items for their next rental.

Inventory

FocalPoint allows you to store rental items and non serialized saleable items, and create kits to streamline your rental process. Pictures can be attached to inventory to protect your assets and help your front counter staff identify items. To effectively maintain records of how your inventory increases, you can create and receive Purchase Orders from the purchase order menu. Many reports on purchasing history are within this menu as well.
